The Western Force will welcome back hard working scrumhalf James Stannard for their 2011 Super 15 Rugby campaign.

Stannard played 10 matches in 2008 for the Force as a rookie and will return next season after continuing his development which has seen him represent the Australian Sevens and gain selection for the upcoming Commonwealth Games.

"James is a quality player and during his time at the club previously was a popular figure amongst team mates and supporters alike," RugbyWA CEO Vern Reid said.

"He was very keen to return and we’re looking forward to having him back playing for the Western Force.

"He will complement our stocks at scrumhalf and we have no doubt he’ll fit into the system very quickly and be a strong contributor for the Force next season."

The 27 year old has signed a single season contract as the Force add cover at halfback following a knee injury to young gun Justin Turner at the IRB Junior World Championships in Argentina last month.
